Most Commemorative Model Vipers are just Sticker & Badge Jobs

But, This GTS/R (GT2) offers a bit more than just Graphics.

It wears the same kind of Aerodynamic pieces as the original GTS/R (Race Car).

Product Manager, John Fernandez Performed a few Hot Rod Tricks on the

Engines Induction System to make the car the most Potent Street going Viper Yet!

The Rear Wing is patterned after the one that appeared on the Original GTS/R,

while the Front Splitter and Winglets are from the first years development of the car.

But according to Fenandez they're the Real Thing!

The Intake Tubes were Straightened, the Airbox Revised, & Low-Restriction K&N Filter replaced the Stock Units.

These changes bumped the Horsepower by 10 to 460!  Brake Horsepower delivered at 5200 RPM.

Better still, Torque is now 500 lb-ft (up 10) and peaks 100 Revs sooner at 3600 RPM!

The Extra Muscle Showed up at the Drag Strip where the GTS/R Blistered its way to 60 Miles Per Hour in 4.2 Seconds,

a tenth Quicker than our Previous Best with a Standard GTS Coupe.

The Car also Showed Improvementin the Quarter mile,

Recording a time of 12.5 Seconds, same as the GTS Coupe but,

with a Higher Trap Speed of 118.5 Miles Per Hour!

Even though there is no change to the engine's internals or exhaust you can hear the difference the new intake plumbing makes.

As Senior Road Test Editor Mac DeMere Snap Shifted the GT2 through  our bevy of Acceleration Tests, it spoke in a Deep, Reedy Howl like that of no other Viper.

The New Hardware must help a bit, too, as this White Lightening Rod turned in the Fastest Acceleration Numbers (0-60 miles per hour in 4.0 seconds) we've ever recorded for a stock Viper!

There is an even more noticable handling improvemnt via the lower profile rolling stock.

Braking Feel and Pedal modulation with the still non-existent ABS discs were also the best of any Viper we've driven, and we've driven a bunch.

Handling is sharper, crisper, and the limit of the adhesion is high - though once past that limit, rear end breakaway is more dramatic.
